The toyota filters being for specific case can use the tsu label aftermarket not so much.
Cabin air filter direction of airflow.
Every other thread on the air filter is filled with people stating to install the arrow pointing down.
However i was outside replacing my cabin air filter today and when i opened it up it was really dirty and had a crap load of debrees in there.
Hence look at the label of the new filter and see whether the arrow is for airflow or just direction and install accordingly.
If you take out the installed filter the dirty side is on top so that implies that the airflow is down.
This makes sense as the air is drawn in from the base of the windshield through the filter and to the fan.
But if the filter has arrows indicating the air flow direction then the arrows have to point down.
This side up is simple as can be.
Ok here is a stupid question and yes i know this is only 1 wrench if that.
If you install your filter in the wrong direction air will have a hard time flowing through the filter s material and your air handler will have to work overtime to make up for the loss of airflow.
This is not only a waste of energy but it can also possibly damage your air conditioner.
The thing that i have is which way is the direction of the air flow or should the arrow point.
I might just change the cabin and engine air filters on ours it s coming up on 10 years this fall.
Airflow direction requires waay to much sleuthing.
If the air filter has arrows that say this side up then the arrows should point up.
Looks like the air flows downward because my old filter had all the dirt on the top side of the filter.
