Cable Clutch Pedal

Cables can also loosen or stretch from use so that the clutch doesn t fully release when the pedal is pushed all the way in. Locate the clutch cable which loops down from the clutch pedal to protrude through the clutch operating lever. The pedal end of the cable fits between a toothed quadrant and pawl located at the top of the pedal. Too little clutch pedal play leads to clutch slip but too much clutch pedal play can lead to clutch drag.

Then find the cable nipple where it sticks out between the quadrant and pawl. When you press down on the clutch pedal it causes the cable to pull on the linkage so that the clutch becomes disengaged. The clutch cable is what connects the clutch pedal and clutch linkage of the transmission together. But if the clutch cable is stretched too.
